Craig Fuller is a successful entrepreneur and an active member of his local community. After being honorably discharged from the army, Craig attended Florida Atlantic University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. After completing his post-secondary studies, Craig pursued an opportunity in the financial sector. While he first entered the workforce as a teller, he eventually assumed the role of Branch Manager. Due to his credentials and leadership qualities, Craig was recognized for his outstanding performance in a professional capacity.
After twenty-five years in banking, Craig decided to try his hand in the business world. During the onset of the global pandemic, he recognized a growing need for logistical help. Understanding the difficulties local businesses were facing, Craig established Rescue Me LLC – a company that locates hard-to-find materials and delivers them directly to work sites. As someone dedicated to the well-being of his local community, he has helped various small businesses remain afloat during challenging times.
How have you achieved success?
This is what you would call my first taste of entrepreneurship and I could not be happier with the strides we have made thus far. I never had a particular interest in the construction industry until I saw the impact the pandemic had on local businesses. I had built various connections throughout my career, so I felt confident making the transition; however, it was definitely a learning experience. With a shortage of both workers and supplies, we made it our mission to fill that gap in the market.
What obstacles have you overcome in the process?
Transitioning into a new industry of course comes with its challenges. We wanted to be able to provide local businesses with the resources they needed to stay afloat; however, locating some of these materials proved to be especially difficult. Right now wood and paint are very short in supply, but I needed to make connections so I could provide these resources to my clients. I work with a great team, and we all value collaboration. We overcome obstacles and then we keep pushing forward.
What drives you to succeed?
I started my business to help others navigate the pandemic. COVID-19 has forced many businesses to innovate and adapt, so I wanted to play a role in helping my community. I want RESCUE ME, LLC, to be a name that individuals can trust, and come to when times get tough. I am also a very family-oriented person, so everything that I do professionally is also for my kids. I always want to be a positive example for them.
How has your definition of success changed over the years?
I think how I measure success changes constantly. I am always trying to outdo myself and improve upon our business offerings. We set small goals and then continue to work harder. I am proud of the amount of business we have helped save throughout the pandemic but I am always looking for ways to increase efficiency and enhance productivity. Right now, we are looking into our daily operations and plan to decrease our total driving time between pickups and deliveries.
What has success meant to you?
Success to me is working collaboratively as a team. I truly value the opinion of all of my colleagues and I know I would not be where I am today without their work ethic and dedication. Success is about achieving goals, and we work together to be better every day.
Do you have advice for others on how to be successful?
Always be willing to go the extra mile. It is true what they say about exceptional customer service. Individuals will always remember the extra work you put in for them and attention to detail. We started as a small local business and I think a lot of our growth has to do with our outstanding service.
