Tristan, what initially sparked your interest in becoming a private pilot?
My passion for aviation began after I missed the chance to reach the crown of the Statue of Liberty and view the New York skyline due to my fear of heights, which felt like a lost opportunity. However, during a visit to the Space Needle in Seattle, I made the decision to step towards the ledge and embrace the view. That moment gave me the confidence to take a discovery flight, sparking my journey toward earning my pilot’s license and overcoming my fear of heights. The idea of navigating the skies and exploring the world from above fascinated me. It felt like a natural extension of my adventurous spirit.

The most rewarding aspect is seeing the direct impact of our efforts on the community and the animals we help. Knowing that I’m contributing to a greater good keeps me passionate and driven.
How do you manage your time effectively with such a busy schedule?
I prioritize my tasks and make sure to schedule everything, including downtime. I also try to be flexible and adapt as things change, which is often.
What’s one of your most memorable experiences from your travels?
Visiting Costa Rica was incredible. The biodiversity and the emphasis on conservation were eye-opening. It was a hands-on learning experience about ecological responsibility that I’ll never forget.
